Frequently asked questions
Can I pressure wash my windows?
Most window manufacturer's warn their customers to not use a pressure washer on their windows. Some even say to not use a garden hose on them. If you review the window care and maintenance instructions put out by window manufacturer's, you will see that they tell consumers to not pressure wash their windows. This includes such window companies as Pella, Jeld Wen, and ReliaBilt, among others. Window manufacturing companies routinely recommend that you do not pressure wash your windows. Even companies that sell windows warn customers to not pressure wash their windows.
There are numerous reasons why window companies caution people to not pressure wash their windows, which include that it can break the seal in the window (which will leave it foggy and in need of repair or replacement), it can damage the paint and molding around the window and the screen, it can create a seal failure that leave you with water trapped between the panes of glass, it can break the window, and water could leak into the home if the caulking is in need of repair or the pressure washing causes a breakdown in the caulking.
If your windows are still under warranty and you have thempressure-washedd against the manufacturer's warning to not do so, you may end up voiding your warranty or running into problems. Pressure washing windows will also do nothing to ensure that your windows look great, inside and out, and that your screens and tracks are properly cleaned. To get a great window cleaning inside and outside, as well as have your screens and tracks properly cleaned, you need a professional window cleaner. By sticking with a professional window cleaner, your windows will get the best possible cleaning and care. This will help keep your windows in great condition, keep a pressure washer from possibly damaging your windows, and will keep you seeing clearly.
How often should I have my windows washed?
There is no one answer that works for everyone though, as it's all a personal preference. There are several factors you will want to consider when it comes to how often you should get your windows cleaned in the Port Orange, New Smyrna Beach, Daytona Beach, and surrounding areas. Here are some of the factors you will want to consider:
Commercial Properties. A commercial property should get their windows cleaned professionally at least monthly. That is the best way to keep their windows looking good for their customers. No customer wants to approach a business that has dirty windows. Your windows are a reflection of your business, so you want to take pride in keeping them clean.
Residential Properties. When it comes to your home, you will want to get them done as often as you like to see out of nice, clean windows. Some people have window cleaning done monthly, others have it done quarterly, while others do it twice a year. At a bare minimum, you should be getting it done twice per year. That is the best way to keep your windows looking great and keep you seeing out of them better.
Geographic Area. How often you get your windows cleaned will also be influenced by where you are located. For example, those who live in Ponce Inlet may want to get the windows cleaned more often, because they will get a salt buildup on them that will deteriorate the materials and cause deposits. Some window manufacturers recommend that those who live near the coast get their windows cleaned every three months to avoid salt accumulation and deposits. Also, those who live near the woods may find they get more debris buildup and want window cleaning more often.
In Daytona Beach, Port Orange, New Smyrna Beach, Ponce Inlet, and in surrounding areas, how often you get your windows cleaned is all based on personal preference. Living in Florida, you can have your windows cleaned any time of the year. Even if we get rain, it's okay, because the rain is not what makes
